Environmental, Social & Grovernance Responsibility

Agriculture is a major source of greenhouse gas emissions. It releases large quantities of carbon dioxide through the burning of biomass, mainly in areas of deforestation and grassland.

Moreover, over two-thirds of human water use is for agriculture. In Asia the share is four-fifths. (FAO)

We believe in effective altruism and free markets, by allocating capital to sustainable and smart agricultural practices we want to make the world a better place.

Our Mission is to create wealth with a positive social impact while minimizing the environmental footprint.

We believe that we can make avocado production more efficient by applying technology.

E - ENVIRONMENTAL

  1. Footprint: We minimize the environmental footprint

  2. Natural Resourses: We manage natural resources sustainably, focusing on water conservation. Over the last decade, irrigation improvements have reduced water use for avocados from 600-700 liters per kilo to 300-400 liters. Compared to bananas (790 liters) or apples (822 liters), avocados require less water, far below beef (15,415 liters) or chocolate (17,196 liters). Our farms use 70% rainwater.

S - SOCIAL

  1. Fair Employment: We ensure fair treatment for all employees and promote the same among suppliers.

  2. Health & Safety: Our workers and families are fully covered by state-run insurance, a benefit rare among farms.

  3. Community Support: We partner with the University of Los Reyes Michoacán to enhance health, safety, and education in our communities.
